1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rungs platform ("Platform", "Service", "we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Indian laws.

If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Nature of the Service

Rungs is a personal relationship management platform (AI-powered personal CRM / digital Rolodex) that enables users to:

  • Store contact and relationship information
  • Record structured and unstructured notes
  • Generate AI-assisted insights
  • Retrieve contextual information about contacts

Rungs does not function as a public social network or brokerage platform.

3. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872
  • Provide accurate information during registration

We reserve the right to suspend accounts found in violation.

4. User Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have lawful basis to store and process contact information entered into the Platform
  • You will not upload unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or harmful content
  • You will not misuse the AI features for illegal activities
  • You will comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws

You are solely responsible for the data you input.

5. Data Storage Options

By default, data is securely stored on our servers.

Users may opt out of server-side storage, subject to:

  • Functional limitations
  • Reduced AI capabilities
  • Local-device-only data retention

We are not responsible for data loss arising from local storage choices.

To opt out of storage of data on our servers, to delete your account, or to request a copy of your data, please email a@ladders.social. All requests shall be handled within 5 working days.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All Platform content, design, AI models, branding, and proprietary workflows are owned by Rungs or licensed to us.
  • You retain ownership of the content you upload.
  • You grant Rungs a limited license to process your data solely for providing the Service.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI-generated insights:

  • May be inaccurate
  • Are probabilistic outputs
  • Should not be relied upon as legal, financial, or professional advice

You are responsible for independent verification.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Indian law:

  • The Platform is provided "as is"
  • We disclaim warranties of uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Loss of opportunity
  • Loss of business goodwill
  • Data entered by users

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • Breach of Terms
  • Fraudulent or unlawful conduct
  • Risk to system integrity

Users may delete their accounts at any time.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Courts in New Delhi, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Amendments

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
